Crafting laws and policies that address the complex challenges facing our State requires leaders who are driven by values embodied in the concepts of aloha, kuleana, and ohana; leaders who will put in the work to understand the complexity of problems and draw upon best practices and evidence-based data to craft laws that address these problems; and leaders who are willing to listen and bring diverse (and sometimes conflicting) points of view together to arrive at solutions that work for communities. I believe I have brought and can continue to bring these values and skills to elected office in representing the people of Hawaii.

Passing laws are just one aspect of being a good legislator. Legislative oversight and collaboration with executive agencies, working with community stakeholders from non-profit agencies to industry leaders engaged in important community work, and addressing constituents' concerns are all ways I hope to work to improve the lives of constituents.
