From working at Honolulu Police Department to Oahu Transit Service and Board of Water Supply, I understand what the people of Hawaii want and need because I am working in the trenches right next to them. I have solved many complex problems over the years and the issues that face our state are no different, they need to be addressed in the same manner, Structured Problem Solutions. If you have no structure you will sooner or later go around in circles, by maintaining structure you are able to address issues and progress forward, by eliminating what is already working and concentrate on what needs to be fixed.
1. Addressing the 27,000 gallons of Jet Fuel that leaked out of storage tanks at red hill that threaten our precious Water supply.
2. Rail needs to be Forensic Audited ASAP and action taken immediately after.
3. Relieve the burden of excessive taxes because of the Jones Act
My highest legislative priority is to have no taxes on unprepared food and prescription drugs.
By having no taxes on unprepared food and prescription drugs this will bring down the cost of living, also by implementing a forever affordable law this will make sure that once an "affordable" home is bought 50 years later it can only be sold for the same price bought. I will bring back the "FERRY" system and I will have " THE BUS" and the " HANDI-VAN" there to service the outer islands and provide our physically challenged citizens another means of travel. This also will bring high tech jobs to our outer islands, if it works here on Oahu it should have no problem on Maui or the Big Island. The TAT tax will go up, but EACH island will keep what they raise to help pay for services and maintenance of their island resources.
I am no longer a bystander waiting for our government to do the right thing. I didn't want to be a politician, but now for many years I have watched the Hawaii I love sink. All these career politicians say they care, they have neighborhood meetings, informational meetings, implementation meetings. It doesn't matter what the people say, you just force it down our throat. I am saying enough already. I want to support the people, but only if the people want me to represent them. Remember REGISTER TO VOTE , AND VOTE, not because it's your right, but because it's your duty. I am the alternative but only if you wish it so. Mahalo to all.
