What qualifies you to represent the people of Hawaii?

Born and raised in the district. Understand the concerns and issues of the residents. I have been in office for many years. Have enjoyed public service in addressing the concerns of the residents.

What are the top three challenges facing the voters you seek to represent?

1. The high cost of living for all the people of the State of Hawaii, from housing, food, utilities, income taxes, fuel inflation.
2. Affordable housing.
3. Public infra-structures, water lines, sewer lines and electrical lines. The utilities must all be replaced since they are very old, brittle and corrosive.

If elected, what will be your highest legislative priority?

Addressing the Employees Retirement System Pension Fund and the Public Employees Health Fund. This topic is called the "Unfinanced Liability". Basically the U.L. is the amount the State and County will have to pay in the future for State and County retirees. If it is not controlled more and more public funds will have to be expanded for public pension contributions and health premium payments.

If elected, what can you do to improve the lives of your constituents?

Responding to their concerns on a timely basis on issues or concerns they have have at the Federal, State and County jurisdictional level. Communicating and vetting issues that we may face in the future.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I have enjoyed representing the voters and families of the district and being engaged with a lot of residents at community activities, neighborhood meetings, school functions and other community evens like stream and park clean ups.
