What qualifies you to represent the people of Hawaii?

I am a U.S.A. citizen who live in Kauai, and I am an active voter and resident of the county. I hold an Executive MBA in Health Care Management and have had experiences in philanthropy, event coordination, public relations, operations manager, insurance, banking, grant writing, and more.

What are the top three challenges facing the voters you seek to represent?

The top three challenges facing Millennial voters in Kauai today are cost of living, affordable housing, and student loan debt.

If elected, what will be your highest legislative priority?

Affordable housing, infrastructure, and job creation.

If elected, what can you do to improve the lives of your constituents?

I believe that public outreach and education to address the shifting philosophies surrounding lifestyle, job market, and affordable housing are necessary to engage my Millennial constituents. Seeking feedback above all is important to encourage an inactive population of voters to engage in political discourse.

I will support initiatives to add to housing stock, initiatives to re-function spaces to be mixed-use spaces, and I will support initiatives to liven the tech and emerging industries so that job creation can stem from the fastest growing industry today, technology. I also have a dream that technology can and will catapult two key industries on Kauai, agriculture and healthcare.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Changes were triggered the moment yesterday's leaders decided to retire and we are past critical changes in our communities. We see it everywhere as we outpace the growth of housing creation with our birth rates. We see it in the police force, the fire department, and in our own local government. Leaders are transitioning out of their roles, and I ask who will represent you, your children, and their children today and the days to come?

Bridging the gaps in leadership is an emergency as every momentous milestone has passed. I am reacting to an emergency we failed to address last year and the year before. Who will lead us today into our tomorrow?

This call to action is priority to me today. It will be tomorrow and the days ahead. Please help me into the role of county council and let the next generation be heard. We are prepared to take the baton forward into our future as we are an efficient generation. I will work hard to ensure that people are given opportunities to be included in the decision making. I am Juno Ann Apalla, and I am asking for one of your seven votes for the Kaua`i County Council.
